Bill Shannon: Maker Moves
Known for creating groundbreaking choreographies that explore the social and political constructions that surround disabled bodies, Bill Shannon’s latest work combines movement, wearable projection technology and interactive video installation art to explore the significant and often subtle implications of physical human contact in this digital era of information overload and deterioration of trust in sources. Touch Update choreographically “reverse engineers” Shannon’s virtuosic technique for dancing on crutches, as he dissects and dismantles the multiple online identities we lean on to broadcast and mediate our public persona, lived experiences and worldview.
